WARRINGTON – The Neshaminy Redskins continue to find ways to grind-out victories.
Despite trailing for the vast majority of the game, the Redskins edged out the Central Bucks Titans in overtime 21-14.
With 9:11 remaining in the first quarter, nimble junior running back Savion Hebron opened up scoring with a 43-yard surge to the end zone.
The Titants responded with a 25-yard Collin Dompert touchdown catch. After the equalizer, Central Bucks South added another score on a well-designed trick play that resulted in quarterback Josh Consoletti catching a 9-yard touchdown from Brian Madden.
What appeared to be an offensive shootout turned into a defensive battle.
The Titans held on to their 14-7 lead until the final possession of regulation. With 34 seconds remaining, on a fourth-and-17, sophomore Brody McAndrew found Mike Garlick for a touchdown.
“This team is never going to stop. We will not quit until the clock strikes zero,” said Garlick.
The Redskins scored on their opening possession of overtime with a 7-yard Joel Stills touchdown run.
After the defense stopped the Titans offense on four consecutive plays, the Redskins sealed their 6th victory of the season.
“This was a really great night for all of us, it was a hard-fought win,” said defensive lineman Chris Majors.
The 6-1 Neshaminy Redskins are back at Heartbreak Ridge for the final time this regular season against the Bensalem Owls.
“We have to continue to do our job and watch film,” said Majors.
